Ken Corbett’s art is part of many public and private collections. His wife and seven kids are a great inspiration to him. They model for him and encourage him to do his best and follow his life’s dream. His work varies from portrait to landscape and from religious to patriotic art. Alive on the canvas, Ken’s portraits capture people and families. Ken has painted hundreds of portraits. Most of these are in private collections. Some of his subjects have been: Abraham Lincoln, Thomas Jefferson, George Washington, Ronald Reagan, BYU Football Coach Lavell Edwards, President Thomas S. Monson, Joseph Smith and other notable figures in Mormon history. Some of his art can be seen at the LDS Museum of Art. Ken grew up making yearly trips to the Tetons and Yellowstone National Park. His love of animals and nature reflects his love for God and his respect for the majesty of His creations. Zion’s National Park and Southern Utah has also provided Ken with material for many beautiful landscape paintings. His inspiring Religious art includes many beautiful paintings of Jesus Christ. Some families have requested family portraits of their children with Jesus. This is an especially personal way to strengthen your family’s faith. His paintings of Three White Dresses and Shield of Faith are an inspiration to today’s youth. His art also includes many paintings of LDS Temples, Book of Mormon and LDS history. Word of Wisdom Revealed, is on the inside cover of the Sep. 2005 Ensign. After traveling to the original sites where this marvelous work began, Ken was inspired to paint many events of the Restoration. Some of these are: The Sacred Grove, Restoration of the Melchezidek Priesthood, and Dawn Before the Crossing, which depicts the final dawn before the saints left their newly completed Temple in Nauvoo. |
